Here at Hotlomi Spa we are specialists in relaxation and alleviation of tension throughout the body. Our level 1, level 2, and Master therapists are equipped with a strong knowledge of the body and the skill needed to release pain and move you into a state of equilibrium; the therapists utilize their hands, forearms, and elbows at various pressures, depending on the clients needs.

Hotlomi massage is our signature massage offered exclusivly at Hotlomi Spa. Using traditional Hawaiian lomi lomi massage, infused with our signature Japanese techniques, Jenny Zhang, owner of Hotlomi Spa and Hotlomi Master, has created and perfected the Hotlomi massage and incorporated it into a variety of the services and packages we offer.

A: Massage prices vary depending on the level of the hotlomi practitioner you require.

Q: Should I book for 1 hour or 2 hours? What is the difference?

A: As your time and wallet allows, the longer the treatment more beneficial to your mind and body. Longer massages will allow you to enter into the ideal relaxed state and maintain the deep tranquility this massage offers for a longer period of time. Our therapists will then have more time to work in deeper layers of tissue and detail every part of your body.

Q: Should I book a student practitioner or higher level practitioner?

A: Students rates are lower and the experience is great for the purpose of relaxation and peace. If you have a specific pain or kink you would like special attention for, or you require a deeper massage, it would be in your best interest to request a higher level practitioner.

Q: What type of oil is used?

A: We use non-scented ultra-sensitive oil, but also offer a selection of aroma scented oils at no additional cost.

Q: Will I be covered during the massage?

A: Yes, to reap the full benefit of hotlomi massage we recommend that you undress as much as your comfort level allows and lay down between the two sheets. You will be properly draped throughout the treatment to maintain your privacy and keep you warm.

Q: Do you have a shower facility?

A: We have a small treatment room with a private shower for body scrub services. As well, we offer a full sized washroom with a shower and bathtub for your convenience. Please let us know prior to your massage if you will be needing these facilities to ensure that it is available to you. We also ask that you arrive early if you would like to shower before your massage. This will allow time for you to get ready at your own pace and avoid any treatments being cut short.

Q: How much in advance should I book my appointment?

A: We try our best to accommodate same day appointments. However, we encourage you to book in as early as possible, especially for weekends and holidays. Walk-ins are not welcome as we need at least 20 minutes to prepare.

Four Hand Massage

Having two massage therapists massage your body at the same time certainly is luxurious and whether or not it is for you will depend largely on what you're looking for. However, a one hour 4-hand massage is only $15 more than a solo massage. We recommend that all of our clients try it at least once. You get double the massage, double the relaxation, and double the work for much less than double the price. It may be the best $15 you have ever spent.

Q: What you can expect?

A: The four hand massage is a blend of long, flowing strokes. At Hotlomi Spa you will be able to request the amount of pressure you prefer, whether light, medium or firm. If you're modest about your body, know that more of your body will be exposed during your four hand massage than during a regular massage. Two therapists need more "body" to work on. Your private areas will still remain covered, of course, but you will likely have both legs exposed at once, for example, versus just one at a time with a single therapist.

Q: What makes a four hand massage so special?

A: One-therapist massages feel amazing because they draw your attention to the movements; you stop worrying about things that may be happening in your life and you sink into the sensations. You're enjoying what's happening to your body.

When two-therapists/four hands hit your body, your mind reacts differently. On top of the relaxation that a single therapist provides, a four hand massage create an environment where your mind is unable to focus its attention on all of the various sensations and pressures, allowing it to unwind, stop thinking, and bask in a state of relaxation.

This is a powerful treatment for anyone who has a hard time letting go of thoughts. Not only will you emerge after the massage with relaxed muscles, but your mind will be clear of clutter. Anyone dealing with anxiety, depression, or over-active mental chatter should try a four hand massage to experience its benefits. And if you are an extremely busy person this is the perfect way to get two hours of bodywork in just one hour.

Q: When is it better to stick with one therapist?

A: Whenever you need specific body parts addressed with deep-tissue sculpting, myofascial release, or any other type of clinical bodywork it is suggested that you use a solo therapist. In these situations it is confusing to have two people working to fix a structural issue in your body - too many cooks in the kitchen. Enjoy being with one really great therapist and keep your mental attention focused on relaxing the body parts she or he is working on.

Appointments:
Appointments can be booked by email or phone. Same day appointments are always welcome! However we do advise you to book as in advance as possible to receive your preferred choice of practitioner, times and treatments.

Lateness Policy:
If you arrive late for your appointment, we will try our best to accommodate your full booking. However, if that's not available, we have to cut your time short and you will be billed for the full cost of the original booking.

Cancellation Policy:
A credit card number may be required to guarantee your booking. A 24hr notice for cancellation is required or a cancellation fee of 50% of the treatment will be charged. No-Shows will be billed at 100% of treatment charge.

Upon Arrival:
We ask you to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your first treatment as a completed case history form will be required for your initial visit. Upon arrival, we ask that you please place cell phones and other mobile devices in silent mode.

Important Notes:
For your added comfort, we recommend that you allow an hour between your last meal and your treatment. Additionally, try to avoid the consumption of coffee and alcoholic beverages prior to any wellness service.

Golfer's Lower Back Selfcare

The most common injuries for golf players is not golfer's elbow, but lower back. All the twisting, bending down, picking up & lifting will put your back into risk. If you have injury your back, you should stop playing immediately. Rest yourself in a comfortable position, avoid any movement or exercise that cause pain. Put ice pack on injury area for 15 minutes and off 30 minutes, repeat to decrease pain & inflammation. You should also call in for massage treatments after the injury is not in acute stage.

Tips to avoid lowback injuries:

蜜蜡脱毛

蜡脱毛在加拿大的种类很多，大概分为软蜡，硬蜡和蜂蜜蜡

软蜡：灌装软蜡需要经过加热才能使用，熔点高，蜡的温度较热，粘性强，比较适合手臂，腿部，后背大面积脱毛的部位。涂抹在毛发处。用棉布盖在上面，快速拔掉棉布，毛发便粘在面部上了。由于这些部位不是很敏感疼痛感也比较小，但是也是因人而异的，有的人小腿或者手臂比较敏感也会有疼痛感。这种蜡在多伦多非常的流行，很多的美容院也用软蜡来做脸部，巴西，比基尼来脱毛，但是皮肤会很红，疼痛感更强。各大学校也只是用这种蜡培训，价钱相对来说比较便宜，但是使用的时候很容易地到地上或者是床上，脱毛的场地悔很脏，到处都是蜡。ROLLER的软蜡相对来说更简单快捷，场地也很干净。

硬蜡：袋装硬蜡需要经过加热才能使用，熔点底，蜡的温度较低，粘性弱，比较温和适合脸部，比基尼，巴西脱毛的部位，因为此蜡只粘住毛发，不会粘住皮肤，减少了皮肤的疼痛感，使巴西脱毛的最佳选择。由于各大学校没有对于此蜡的培训很少美容师会用这种蜡，也有很多人不知道这种蜡。这种蜡不需要棉布，直接拔掉蜡就可以了。

蜂蜜蜡：灌装蜂蜜蜡，无需加热，纯天然蜂蜜，无需棉布，用手的温度来暖蜡直接脱毛。在多伦多非常少。
